Introduction
This article is intended for users of the dataJAR ID (powered by Okta) to guide with managing this login account and how to get support should the need arise.
What is a dataJAR ID used for?
A dataJAR ID is used for logging existing .mobi customers into Jamf Insights, where they can access their instance and support their macOS or iOS devices.

Logging in for the first time
After requesting an account, you will be sent an email from Okta welcoming you to your dataJAR ID:
Follow the link to “Activate Okta Account”. You will be taken to a page for you to create your password and set your secret question (in case you forget your password) .
Follow the instructions for setting a strong password here:
Once you have set your password, you will be presented with your applications page. This will show all applications linked to your dataJAR ID:
Selecting the 'Portal' tile will load your Jamf Insights instance.

Resetting a forgotten password
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a reset at the login page.
Please note: you will need to know the answer to your secret question to continue here.
Navigate to id.datajar.mobi and select “Need help signing in?" followed by “Forgot password?”:
Enter your registered email address and select the button to reset your password via email, where you’ll be presented with a confirmation window:
Navigate to your emails, where you will have received a message offering you a reset link:
You will be asked to confirm your secret answer to your secret question.
Then enter your new password:
This will successfully reset your password and return you to your Okta applications page.
If you experience any issues resetting your password, please raise a ticket with our Services team, who will be able to help.
Account lockouts
If you've not logged into your account for over 90 days your account will be marked as inactive. This will prevent you from logging in or resetting your password.
You will be presented with a screen stating "Unable to Sign in"
If you see this screen and would like to re-activate your account. Please, raise a ticket with the support desk who'll be able to re-enable your dataJAR ID account.
